2/18th Battalion (A.I.F.) Association

Member of the Council of the Eight Division and Service Associates

This web site is launched on the ANZAC Day 2005, the 90th anniversary of the landing at Gallipoli.  This is especially significant to the members of the 2/18th, since they enjoy their Reunion and AGM from 11 am at the Sydney Room, City Tattersalls Club ("Silks") following the march.

You can find this page at www.tovegin.com.au/community/2nd_18th_battalion_aif/

Let's look at the how this web site came to be.   At the bottom of a web page entitled "The Tools of the Future to Help Remember the Past" you will find a reference to one web site that was online for ANZAC Day 2000.

We a pleased to announce that the full 2/18th Battalion historical web site is now online at www.218battalion.com .  Have a look and review the battalion history, peruse a photo gallery or even search the nominal roll.

If you wish to read about the 2/18th Battalion in book format, there are two:

bulletIn an effort to translate the Latin motto of the 2/18th Bn (AIF), Legionis Lampada Tradamus, a site was uncovered (Thanks, Clive Baker of THE WAR BOOK SHOP) that details the memorial at the camp where the 2/18th Battalion trained.  The site - Bathurst Army Camp Memorial Wall and the text of the memorial (that reveals the translation) is
