G'day, Believe it or not, Colleen retired a SECOND time from the same company ! Here's the shots of the limo to prove it.
Enjoyed a super bush walk up in a park near the Hawkesbury River that is only open a couple of weeks a year. Lovely spot, am sure you will agree.
The Diocese of Broken Bay has a Jubilee 2000 committee. Here are the members.

Well we have lots of new plants in our garden, thanks to John. And of course when the flowered this year, we wanted to make sure we got some pictures.
Could have spent some time getting the brightness out of some of these, but thought you would want to see them quickly.
(Good reason for a digital camera !)

The Olympic Stadium opened with a lot of fan fare. Before the first event was held (a double header rugby league game) they had an open day where they let you walk through the stadium (well the end zones anyway). This roll includes shots from that open day.
We were given a weekend in a Sydney (Potts Point) hotel that friends had one as a prize and were not able to use. I got some stunning sunset shots from the balcony of the room.
The volunteer computer users group, DECUS Australia, had a function in Queensland where we awarded one of our leadership for outstanding effort during the past year.
The highlight of this roll has to be the visit to Sydney of cousins Dan & Jennifer Czarnik. Dan has actually been to Sydney before. He is working with a company that deals a lot with Ford Motor Company and has had a number of trips to Melbourne. This time he brought Jennifer, and they were able to spend two days with us in Sydney. So a whirlwind tour around town, seeing all those "Australian" things you can't see in Melbourne (our harbour, our Opera House, etc.) And of course a BBQ at our place with friends.

Yes, This is pretty much the last roll planned for the SLR. A Minolta 7000 with 2 lens (35-70 and 75-600) 2 flashes.
Replaced by a HP C-300 Digital 1.3 Megapixel with inbuilt flash. Never will really replace an SLR, but the convenience of being to play the photos on the TV, take them out of the camera moments afterwards and publish on the internet is just too good.
Oh yes, the roll ! Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada in Aug 99. Beautiful country side, a little snow still on the mountain top. The native Indians have a worked out that commercialization of their culture for display is not a bad thing (if done tastefully) and it helps pay for what is needed.
The historical area tells a lot of story about the "territories".
But as always too short and only the highlights were seen.

Larry & Colleen

Vienna is a stunning place. Churches, Palaces, gardens, culture and more. But doesn't escape the modern society - like watching someone's car being towed away. Not just towed away, but lifted from the illegal parking spot onto a truck by crane. Comes with not having a lot of manoeuvring room we guess.
The overwhelming emotion is one of amazement of the age. With no buildings in Australia much past 200 and in the USA much if any past 500, to have dinner in a cellar restaurant that has evidence of being 1000 years old .... Just amazing. But then one might get used to that if travelling Europe. A lovely place.
